Sunday Lunch aboard the Shakespeare Express is our keynote journey
As you sink into your sumptuous and plush Pullman carriage seat in opulent surroundings, your liveried staff attend to you with a drinks service and your first starter course at around 1pm.
Our train runs outward via Dorridge, allowing a fantastic branch line experience followed by the thrill of fast, main line steam as we pass Solihull.
Your main course is served as the train approaches Birmingham, and you have time to relax and enjoy it in your luxurious surroundings and can also pop off the train to see our locomotive at Birmingham Snow Hill station.
Our return journey is via the Shakespeare Line, a branch from Tyseley to Bearley via the likes of Henley-in-Arden, with rolling fields, lakes, rivers and even a canal aqueduct visible from your window.
Desserts are served as we near the journey’s end, returning you to Stratford-upon-Avon at around 3pm. You can then return to enjoy a Sunday saunter through the great writer’s place of birth.
This trip offers you the chance to sample the bygone era of Pullman rail travel, at a fantastic price. Each train is steam-hauled, so it is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or as a surprise gift.
All customers should be aware that in the summer months, Network Rail may direct us, sadly, to use a diesel locomotive instead if they believe that lineside fires could be a real risk. In these cases, we can only apologise but cannot offer any partial or full refunds.
Each trip includes: a steam-hauled rail trip from Stratford-upon-Avon, of around two hours, as well as a three-course meal. Drinks are available to purchase from our waiters on the day.
What to Expect in the Pullman Carriage:
In Pullman Class, passengers are sat around tables of either two or four. There is a supplement per person for tables of two and the price for this depends on the train service. Pullman Class is the most luxurious and glamorous of all seating options with comfortable seating, space, services and views.
