Sunday Lunch aboard the Shakespeare Express is our keynote journey

2025 Dates: 26th October and 9th November

As you sink into your sumptuous and plush Pullman carriage seat in opulent surroundings, your liveried staff attend to you with a drinks service shortly after you depart Stratford-upon-Avon. The main course will be served shortly after departing Stratford, and dessert once we leave Birmingham Snow Hill.

Our train runs outward via Dorridge, allowing you to experience the thrill of fast, main line steam as we pass Solihull.

As you finish your main course on the approach to Birmingham, you have time to relax and enjoy your luxurious surroundings or why not pop off the train to see our locomotive at Birmingham Snow Hill station.

Our return journey is via the Shakespeare Line, England’s last main line railway built before high-speed lines and remaining authentic to the GWR, from Tyseley to Bearley via the likes of Henley-in-Arden, with rolling fields, lakes, rivers and even a canal aqueduct visible from your window.

Desserts are served as we near the journey’s end, returning you to Stratford-upon-Avon. You can then return to enjoy a Sunday saunter through the great writer’s place of birth.

This trip offers you the chance to sample the bygone era of Pullman rail travel, hauled by a steam locomotive, so it is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or as a surprise gift.

All customers should be aware that in the summer months, Network Rail may direct us, sadly, to use a diesel locomotive instead if they believe that lineside fires could be a real risk. In these cases, we can only apologise but cannot offer any partial or full refunds.

Please be aware if you book Tables for 2 that sometimes you may be seated at a table for four, but you will still be seated as a pair, with no other passengers at your table. Please note these prices do not include booking fees.
