Train Rides to Llandudno Junction and Tan-y-Bwlch

Clun Castle to Llandudno Junction and then our Class 47 heritage diesel D1755 to Blaenau Ffestiniog for the Ffestiniog Railway to Tan-y-Bwlch and return.

We will travel from Tyseley Locomotive Works through Birmingham and Wolverhampton, then take a short spin up the West Coast Main Line to Crewe, turning off through Chester and along the North Wales coastline to Llandudno Junction. From here we will reverse to travel along the scenic Conwy Valley line to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

You may either transfer at Blauenau Ffestiniog to the Ffestiniog Railway for a narrow-gauge steam train ride to Tan-y-Bwlch and back (extra price) or, from Llandudno Junction, you may catch a local diesel train to Llandudno (extra fare). We plan for Clun Castle to haul the train to Chester, where D1755 will take over for the run to Llandudno Junction and the return trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog. We plan to be steam hauled for the return journey throughout from Llandudno Junction.
