Steam trains on the Lickey incline are a rare sight so twice on the same day with two different locomotives is rare indeed! Two identical trains will start at Tyseley Locomotive Works and pick up at Birmingham Snow Hill for a fast run to Worcester. Here the train will turn before we head for Bromsgrove where Duchess of Sutherland will commence an unassisted climb up the 1 in 37 incline to Blackwell. We continue to Birmingham New Street, another rare steam location.
Unfortunately, Pannier tank No. 9466 is not available for banking theses trains as originally planned, therefore both trains will operate unassisted.
