The ever popular North Wales destination of Llandudno is today’s destination, another traditional seaside outing with the Class 20’s at the helm.
With over four hours in Llandudno, its Victorian atmosphere offers a fun packed time for all the family. Llandudno is the largest seaside resort in Wales, and as early as 1861 was being called ‘the Queen of the Welsh Watering Places’. Discover the sites inspired by the Lewis Carroll classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with the Alice Town Trails. Along the trail, you’ll encounter the longest pier in Wales, where you can admire the majestic line of hotels that have not changed since Victorian times. Look out for the St Georges Hotel. It is thought that Lewis Carroll wrote part of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland here. You can also see St Tudno’s Hotel, where Alice first stayed back in 1861.
Board at Tyseley Locomotive Works (limited pre-booked free car parking available avoiding Birmingham’s congestion charge), Walsall or Wolverhampton stations. You may leave the train on the return at any of these stations.
