Gloucester Goes Retro - Saturday 24th August
Gloucester Goes Retro is back for 2019, with even more vintage-inspired entertainment and classic relics from bygone eras.
The event will take place on Saturday 24 August 2019 as part of the Gloucester Summer of Music, Arts and Culture, which runs from July until August 2019. Featuring vintage vehicles, a music stage, exhibitions and entertainment, there’ll also be themed costumes to boot.
If you’re a fan of historic and restored vehicles, check out the cars, motorbikes and scooters which will be lining the streets of the city. The event is free for all, and is a great way to appreciate the history of the local area.
Our morning departure from Solihull will be behind Tyseley’s flagship locomotive, no. 7029 ‘Clun Castle’. We pickup additional passengers at Dorridge, Warwick Parkway and Banbury, before heading through Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and into the Cotswolds on our picturesque tour toward the celebrations at Gloucester.
After several hours to enjoy ‘Gloucester Goes Retro’, we return the same route, basking in the glory of an August summer evening as we return to the Midlands.
Steam hauled throughout by No. 7029 ‘Clun Castle’.
